Hello, I'm Melina

– Designer, creative person and heart behind HERZ-BLATT.

Design has been a part of my life for half a century: I'm a graphic designer with an MA, have been working in the design field for over 20 years, and have worked as a freelance designer for many years. From corporate design to stationery to digital content – I love bringing concepts to life and creating things that bring joy and beauty to everyday life.

I first worked with a laser in 2016 and was immediately fascinated by the possibilities for designing shapes and materials on a new, tactile level. In 2022, I acquired my own CO₂ laser to enable me to produce my high-quality stationery and event decorations for weddings even more professionally: acrylic signs, table numbers, place cards, and much more.

But in recent years, this market has changed dramatically. At the same time, I was missing the creative outlet I always loved: holding something in my hands that I had designed and made myself.

That’s why I consciously reoriented myself in 2024.

I wanted to continue using my laser – but for myself, for projects that truly fulfilled me. So the idea was born to not let the leftover mirror and glitter acrylic lie unused, but to create jewelry with it.

My first piece was the statement PINA earring – and from then on, it was a dream come true. Since then, ideas have been pouring out of me: colors, shapes, materials – everything can come together to create new combinations.

Colors play a special role for me: They make me happy. I love how bold tones, shimmering reflections, and vibrant combinations evoke emotions. Perhaps it's also due to my ADHD that I always have new ideas and color combinations in my head that just want to come out.

For me, it's a true win-win situation: I enjoy designing and manufacturing, and my customers enjoy wearing and looking at the pieces. It's simply wonderful to see how jewelry radiates joie de vivre and how colors—in keeping with the dopamine dressing trend—add color to everyday life.

HERZ-BLATT is not a hobby project.

I work with professional machines, use only high-quality acrylic sheets, and place great importance on flawless workmanship. I design, laser cut, sand, assemble, photograph, copywrite, and manage my shop myself – with the experience and eye of a seasoned designer. I even custom-make my displays for the markets on my laser.

Currently you can find my pieces:

- Here in the online shop
- at design markets
- at selected concept stores

And because it's often asked: Yes, I continue to work 30 hours a day as a designer, I'm a mother – and yet HERZ-BLATT isn't a "side job," but a very important part of my creative identity.

And if I still have a bit of time, I dance hip hop with the over-30s oldies – because creativity and movement simply belong together.
